As the weather cools down, some Britons may be waking up to water droplets, also known as condensation, on the inside of their windows. Condensation can cause mould around windows and on window frames which can be unpleasant and can affect people's health.

Luckily, fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, also known as Sophie Hinchliffe, have shared their tips for getting rid of condensation. 

Mrs Hinch is a lifestyle and cleaning influencer with more than 4.5 million followers on Instagram.

Inspired by her hacks, fans of hers have created their own Facebook pages dedicated to sharing cleaning tips and recommendations with each other.

On one social media group, Facebook user Nicole Shearing asked: “How can I prevent this much condensation?

“We get it on both bedrooms windows, they’re drenched every morning!

“We wipe the windows every day and crack the windows and have these moisture absorbers, any tips are welcome!”

The post was inundated with more than 100 responses from Mrs Hinch fans but the most common suggestion was to use a dehumidifier.

Claire Soutar said: “Dehumidifier will help massively.”

Karen Jane Train replied: "You can buy many sizes of dehumidifier. I would start off with one in a hallway or landing and see if it clears it.

"Although if you have damp in every room are you sure this isn't a structural issue? If your roof or walls aren't watertight a dehumidifier won't solve it."

Jessica Conroy commented: "Invest in a dehumidifier. Unfortunately happens in the winter months on most houses."

Lisa Allsop said: "Try not to have big differences in temperature from day to night and invest in a good dehumidifier. I have the electric Q one for a three to five-bedroom house and you will be surprised how much it takes out even when set at low. Solved my problem."

Maureen Hughes wrote: "I had the same problem so I bought a dehumidifier. It's cheaper to run than having the heating on constantly."

Eileen Cullwick said: "I bought a dehumidifier and was surprised how much water it collected."

Mel Anie wrote: "Dehumidifier will definitely solve this problem."

Natalie Attal-Witter replied: "We had this in our flat and a dehumidifier really helped."

Katie Goff suggested: "We had the same problem in our hallway. We spent £150 on a dehumidifier I know that’s a lot but it was so worth it."

Nikki Robbo Robinson said: "I got a small dehumidifier and it's made such a difference."

Bethany Jayne commented: "Plug in a dehumidifier. Expensive at first but so worth it! We had a terrible issue with damp. Tried all the usual stuff and then bought one and had no problems since!"

Maria Clayden wrote: "Get a dehumidifier. They are amazing at getting rid of moisture."

Karen Otoole suggested: "I had the same problem. I tried everything. The only thing that worked was a dehumidifier.

"It’s excellent. Just put it in the hall. I have nothing on my windows now."

Other suggestions from Mrs Hinch fans for getting rid of condensation included using salt, washing up liquid, a window vacuum and keeping a window open.

Majella Ward said: "Put plates of normal salt near windows. I had a caravan and when we had to shut it down for winter I used to do this for dampness. It totally worked and is so cheap!"

Tracy Parker replied: "I use a small blob of liquid hand soap and rub it in. It'll keep them clear."

Maureen Agnew wrote: "I love my Karcher, would advise you, if you can, to pull your blinds up before bed, does help."

Amy Walsh suggested: "Have the window open on the first latch. Enough for air to circulate but not enough to be cold."
