A leaked video that shows Finland’s 36-year-old prime minister dancing and singing with friends at a private party has triggered a debate among Finns about what level of reveling is appropriate for their leader. The video clearly shot by someone at the party was leaked on social media and caught the attention of Finnish media this week. Marin has faced a barrage of questions about the party: Were there drugs? Was she sober enough to handle an emergency had one arisen? Some citizens said the side of the prime minister on display in the video was potentially damaging to Finland's reputation. Others say Marin has a right to party like anyone else.

ATLANTA — We had a caller to our Politically Georgia podcast recently, Fran from New Jersey, who was totally confounded by the possibility that Herschel Walker is in a close race against Raphael Warnock for U.S. Senate.

Greece's close financial oversight by European Union creditors is ending. Saturday's milestone closes an unwelcome chapter dating to the country's painful bailout years. It gives Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ center-right government greater freedom at a time when Greece, like all of Europe, is struggling with a post-pandemic cost-of-living and energy crisis triggered by Russia's war in Ukraine. Unlike the end of Greece's budget checks, rising prices and high unemployment are key issues that have a tangible effect on ordinary Greeks. And the country will still be monitored by its creditors while it pays back its debts. That will take another two generations, with the last loans due for repayment in 2070.

A Japanese chemical tanker ship has crashed into a cargo ship off the coast of southwestern Japan. No one was injured among the six Japanese crew aboard Ryoshinmaru, the tanker, and 14 Chinese crew aboard the Belize-registered cargo ship, Xin Hai 99. The crash early Saturday is under investigation. A Kushimoto Coast Guard official said both ships are anchored in the area, about two miles off the coast of Wakayama Prefecture. Some oil leaked from the engine area of the cargo ship, and it initially started to sink, but it was brought under control, the official said.

Davis Mills threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Nico Collins with one second left in the first half, salvaging something good from an up-and-down performance in the Houston Texans’ 24-20 preseason victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Mills is expected to be the rebuilding Texans’ starting quarterback again this season, but Houston’s offense didn’t click much against the Rams’ second- and third-stringers until his final two throws to Phillip Dorsett and Collins netted a combined 50 yards. Roger Carter Jr. scooped and scored for the Rams on a fumbled punt return in the third quarter.

Jason Varitek led Altamonte Springs out of Florida to the 1984 Little League World Series championship game. Varitek, Ed Vosberg and Michael Conforto are the only three players to play in the Little League Baseball World Series, College World Series and Major League Baseball World Series. Now Boston’s game-planning coordinator, the 50-year-old Varitek is headed back to where he burst through on the national scene when the Red Sox play the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday night in the fifth MLB Little League Classic. The game is played at 2,366-seat Historic Bowman Field in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Africa’s migratory birds are threatened by changing weather patterns in the center and east of the continent that have depleted natural water systems and caused a devastating drought. Hotter and drier conditions due to climate change make it difficult for traveling species who are losing their water sources and breeding grounds, with many now endangered or forced to alter their migration patterns entirely by settling in cooler northern areas. Roughly 10% of Africa’s more than 2,000 bird species, including dozens of migratory birds, are threatened. The Madagascar fish eagle, the Taita falcon and hooded vultures are among 28 species classified as “critically endangered”.

Victor Robles scored the go-ahead run on Josh Hader’s wild two-base throwing error and rookie Alex Call followed with his first career home run, a two-run shot, as the Washington Nationals stunned the San Diego Padres 6-3. It was the second straight rough outing for Hader, who dropped to 2-5. He is the major league leader in saves but has struggled since being obtained from Milwaukee on Aug. 1. Hader was booed as he walked off the field after being pulled by manager Bob Melvin.

Eugenio Suarez homered twice and drove in five runs as the Seattle Mariners cruised to their fourth straight win, 10-2 over the Oakland Athletics. Marco Gonzales allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings and beat Oakland for the third time this season. Seattle maintained a half-game lead over Toronto for the AL’s top wild card spot. The Mariners are 37-15 over their last 52 games, best in the league over that span. Suarez went deep twice off left-hander Cole Irvin. He has 22 homers this season and 151 since 2018, the most in the majors during that span.

Miles Mikolas threw eight dominant innings, Paul Goldschmidt connected for his 30th homer of the season and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1. Nolan Arenado had a four-hit night, including three doubles, while veteran catcher Yadier Molina added a season-high three hits and scored a run. Goldschmidt also had three hits. Mikolas gave up just one hit through seven shutout innings before the D-backs scratched across a run in the eighth.

Survivors and faith leaders are demanding Utah change a law that exempts religious leaders from requirements that they report sexual abuse brought to their attention in spiritual confessions. Reform advocates on Friday held a rally in Salt Lake City to share stories of survivors who said their sexual abuse wasn't reported to law enforcement after they alerted local church leaders. The rally follows an Associated Press story about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its abuse reporting system. The investigation found the system can be misused by church leaders to divert abuse accusations away from law enforcement and instead to church attorneys who may bury the problem, leaving victims in harm’s way.
